SOUTHERN PROVINCE YOUTH VOLUNTEERS HAVE PLEDGED TO BE AMBASSADORS OF PATRIOTISM

This has been one of the resolution of the Southern Province youth volunteers congress, a meeting which had an aim to mobilize the youth and show them their role and contribution to a crime free country, a meeting which had brought all youth volunteers coordinator from cell level, and has taken place in Huye District, this Thursday the 06th of April 2017.

In a presentation by ACP Gilbert Gumira, the Regional Police Coordinator, he has stressed on fighting drugs as the root cause of many crimes, where, by demonstration, he illustrated that the more drugs increase, the more crime cases increase too, therefore there is no doubt that if we all join hands to fight the battle of the drugs, then crimes would decrease too.

Also The community Policing commission ACP Celestin Twahirwa, stated that, youth and every committed Rwandan should never stand crimes, insisting that, if we really claim to be good citizens and proud Rwandans, then we should learn how to stop these drugs and internal crimes and start dealing with cross borders crimes such as, terrorism, cyber-crimes, proliferation of small arms and light weapons, Human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling, money laundering, counterfeit products,…

In his presentation also the Executive Secretary of the National Electoral Commission Mr Munyaneza Charles, has requested the youth to lead by example by volunteering and endeavoring to be the firsts to vote and make our elections like a wedding ceremony, and also to immensely turn up at a 100% to determine the future they want.

Hon Governor has also pledged close partnership with the youth, and also promised to always be there for solutions to all their inquiries, working closely with the Districts, she also expressed her gratitude for the courage and optimism spirit she had noticed in the hearts of all youth present.

671 youth volunteers from cell to District level had pledged to turn up for elections at a 100%, and to always working closely with the police staff to prevent crimes, and to always break the silence in case there is a suspicious situation in their respective locations.
