SOUTHERN PROVINCE HAS ENTERED THE COMMEMORATION WEEK OF THE GENOCIDE AGAINST TUTSIS

Like anywhere else in Rwanda and abroad, the Southern Province has entered the commemoration week of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsis, and the rite has taken place in all Districts of the Province, and on a Provincial level it has taken place in Gisagara District, Kibilizi Sector, presided over by Honorable Governor and Security organs.

In all speeches and testimonies, people have insisted on the way of the cross that Tutsis endured during Genocide, how they happened to survive without  forgetting to express the hope for the future that the good Leadership has implanted into their hearts, in Rwanda without ethnic divisions, where everyone has one identity as “umunyarwanda”

During these events, several dialogues were delivered, where Members of Parliaments had time to address to the general public about the History of ethnic divisions in Rwanda which has led to the Genocide against the tutsis in 1994.

After the speech of Guest of Honor, hon Governor Mureshyankwano Marie Rose and various poems and songs related to the day, which was composed of the solace to the survivors and pledge to a better future, Honorable Governor had also the opportunity to make a vote of thanks to the former RPA army which rescued many Tutsis and brought peace and progress to the country also appealingto everyone to build on that progress and be ready to protect them.

Also all participants in all Districts had a chance to listen to the speech of His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic, thereafter particularly in Gisagara District, there was a rite of lighting the candle (light) of hope in Ndora Sector at the District Headquarters, and all other dialogues will be taking place as planned by CNLG.
