A big rehabilitation center for street children and other delinquents is set to be constructed in Nyamagabe District, Gatare sector, a center which will host more than 2000 people, for rehabilitation, this was mentioned during the site visit by Hon State Minister in charge of Social affairs Mme Alvera Mukabaramba, Hon Governor of the Southern Province, Mme Marie Rose Mureshyankwano, and the Director general in charge of Rehab centers Mr Aime Bosenibamwe, this Wednesday 17^th of January 2018.

Honorable Minister, talking to the people neighboring the center, she stated that, Rwanda has, as policy, to do not lose any of its child, therefore these people affected by drug use and other misconduct shouldn’t be looked down, she added that it is a core responsibility for a parent to educate the child in accordance with Rwandan culture norms, and raise him/her, making sure that the child is equipped with values of the culture.

The Director General of Rehabilitation centers in Rwanda, also emphasized that, this center is coming to help Rwandan children, who are mostly mentally disturbed by drug abuse and other misconduct, and it will contribute for mental rehabilitation, vocational training for them, and after here, those who will have come out of this center will be provided with some tool kits to start a new life.

This rehabilitation center will host more than 2000 people, and will be constructed within 16months on the surface land of 46ha, in Gatare Sector in Nyamagabe District.
