Following 18^th of October’s cabinet reshuffle, where some leaders were also given new positions, also Madame Mureshyankwano Marie Rose, who was the Governor of the Southern Province was detached from the Southern Province Governorship, and substituted by CG Emmanuel Gasana , by the power entrusted to His Excellency Paul Kagame, the President of the Republic of Rwanda.

As a custom, the newly appointed Governor was to be handed over the Powers of Governorship by the outgoing one. This was the aim of this 25^th of October 2018, handover ceremonies, which were presided over by Honorable Minister of Local Government, Prof Anastase Shyaka.

Both Governors, expressed their thanks for the trust bestowed to them by His Excellency Paul Kagame, and thank him for his visionary leadership that is citizen centered.  Hon Mureshyankwano presented the status of the Province, the achievements in figures, and ended by illustrating the pending issues, and demonstrated her confidence that the new Governor will do his best to finish them regardless of the challenges halfway.

Governor Gasana also expressed his confidence to achieve the goals but asked that more attention should be paid to; diligence, resilience; comradeship, hardworking and focus, where he called all that were present to strengthen the spirit of togetherness.

Honorable Minister Prof Shyaka, also after thanking H.E Paul Kagame, he wished well to both outgoing and incoming governors, in a special way, thanking the outgoing Governor for the good work, and undoubtedly affirms that the new one will excel.

He, again provided tips to make it, where he advised to embrace togetherness and unity at work, to avoid unnecessary misunderstanding and focus on delivering, because after all, there is no salary for differences.
