INTERNATIONAL GIRL DAY CELEBRATED IN STYLE IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE
International girl day, in Southern Province has been celebrated in its own unique style, and coincided with International rural woman day and the launching of the Governance month, where a huge crowd of Gishamvu sector inhabitants, located in Huye District, was joined by Hon Governor of the Southern Province Mme Mureshyankwano Marie Rose, this Wednesday 11th of October 2017.
The day was made of various speeches, reminding the value of a woman in a society, but also health, hygiene, gender equality and avoidance of conflicts in families, were also emphasized on, and women best entrepreneurs were awarded for having been an example, and the witnesses that woman development is possible.
In her speech, the representative of National Women Council, in Southern Province, has called for all women, to turn up for the upcoming activities planned during this governance month, which has been launched, and also to take part in everything planned by the Government, also striving to be hard workers. In her speech, honorable Governor who was also the guest of honor, she reminded women that they are the heart of the family, therefore family growth through diligence and resilience must be their constant preoccupation, and that they are lucky to have a visionary leadership which values women.
The celebration was closed by a get together, and other types of entertainment, by several artists, and comedians.
