HONORABLE GOVERNOR HAS LED THE DIALOGUE ON THE HISTORY OF GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TUTSIS IN RWANDA

In the conference room of the Southern Province, Honorable Governor has led the dialogue on the History and the implementation of the Genocide against tutsis, a dialogue which had gathered all the staff and other staff working on provincial level, also other institutions operating under the same building with the Southern Province were present, this Monday 10th of April 2017.

Honorable Governor has introduced saying that it is a dialogue, therefore it needs to be participative enough and the speech is open to everyone, because we all share the same history and the same responsibility to raise this country equally.

She has gone through the origin of all ethnic divisions which has led to the Genocide against the tutsis, where she mentioned that, naturally Rwandans are not bad people, they had been known as very united people, who had a very well organized leadership, therefore there wouldn’t be any room for colonialists to conquer Rwanda without applying the Divide and rule politics.

That is when they started the propaganda, to convince Hutus that they were dominated by the minority, that they should stand up and emancipate from that slavery, and unfortunately corrupted regimes heard that and started to teach that propaganda, to reap hatread into Rwandans, which lead to the atrocities of the 1994 Genocide against the tutsis, which we are still struggling today to fight its consequences.

She again appealed to all present, to build on the progress we have so far made, by the help of good leadership, topped by H.E Paul Kagame the President of the Republic and pay no attention to all who want to take us back to the darkness that Rwandans have endured.

All participants were so attentive and looking thirsty to know more and participate actively in the dialogue, where they had illustrated the good will of staying united and work hard for the development of Rwanda.
