FESPAD 2018 REACHES HUYE IN STYLE

The 10th edition of Pan African festival of dances, which is happening in Rwanda has reached Huye, this 01st of August 2018, a rite that held in Huye stadium preceded by a carnival which has taken the tour of Huye District, and was presided over by Honorable Governor of the Southern Province, Madame Mureshyankwano Marie Rose, together with Minister of culture, arts and Tourism in Burkinafaso Mr Abdul Karim Sango, and the Minister of culture in DRC Mme Astrid Madiya Ntumba.

After various presentations of the dances from Burkinafaso, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda which brought immense joy to the present public, where several cultures and traditions were illustrated through dances, and other magic looking rites, people were looking excited and eager to continue watching and dancing.

In his speech, the Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism in Burkinafaso stated that, Rwanda is an example of whole world that the development of the continent is possible, and African union is real, he further said that, Burkinafaso has come to learn how this has worked. “It is not by chance that President Kagame was elected the President of African Union, he deserved it and he is a hard worker, may God bless Kagame and bless Rwanda” he said.

Also the Minister of Arts and culture in the DRC stated that, the DRC is happy to join the rest of Africa in celebration of African culture, that when countries meet for this cause, it is not only dancing and singing, but celebrating countries fraternity.

The Governor, who was also the Guest of Honor, expressed her gratitude, for the groups which were representing their countries and wish them a warm welcome to Rwanda and to feel at home.

She further said; “it is with pleasure, that I can stand firm and say to you that, the dances and music we share tonight as Africans, prove that such cultural diversity can be a golden link which brings us to genuine fraternity of all Africans”

She continued by thanking HE Paul Kagame, for, through his leadership, the African union had trust in him, to lead the organization and to bring the Pan African Festival of Dance to Rwanda.

This FESPAD2018 is the 10th Edition and will be closed on 02nd of August 2018, in Nyanza District, at King’s palace known as Urukari.
