In a consultative meeting that was organized by the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion in collaboration with the Southern Province and has brought together all the stakeholders of this Ministry in the Southern Province; Governor Alphonse MUNYANTWALI called the participants in this meeting to base their planning on proper statistics.

This meeting was also attended by different senior officials both at the National and Provincial level including the Director General in the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion Mr. Alfred KAREKEZI, the Army and Police Commanders in the Southern Province, the Vice Mayors in charge of Social Affairs and different partners operating in line with the above mentioned Ministry.

In his speech, Governor Alphonse MUNYANTWALI rejoiced for the step that was made in Gender and Family Promotion so far and underlined that " there should be harmonized reporting system, participatory approach and to set up a format that should be used in order to avoid any sort of confusions" .

He also called all the partners in this domain to join their efforts and insure that their beneficiaries are proud of what is done for them and urged them to base their activities on the household level and insure that the population take part in planning for their life.

The Director General in the Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion Mr. Alfred KAREKEZI appreciated the collaboration that characterize this Ministry, the Local Government and all the stakeholders at all levels and called the partners to work more closely with the Districts in fighting against Gender Based Violence, to promote child protection, fight against malnutrition and to encourage women to feel free to take part in all the activities aiming at development including leadership.
