| PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE HEAD OFFICE OF THE SOUTHERN PROVINCE This Tuesday 3rd April 2012, the Governor of the Southern Province Mr. Alphonse MUNYANTWALI held a Press Conference with different media both national and local; a conference that was aiming at sharing views on the preparations for the remembrance on the 18 times of the Genocide perpetrated against Tutsis in 1994.

Apart from the journalists, this Press Conference was attended by different officials including the District Mayors in the Southern Province, the Executive Secretary of the Southern Province Madam Jeanne IZABILIZA, the Army and Police Commanders in the Southern Province among others.
Governor Alphonse MUNYANTWALI rejoiced for the close collaboration between the Southern Province and the media as partners in the development both social and economical and called for the upholding of the dignity both individual and social and highlighted that remembering the Genocide that was perpetrated against Tutsis should be the concern of everybody and reminded the theme that say:
"TWIGIRE KU MATEKA TWUBAKA EJO HAZAZA " and called the media to play their role in sensitizing the population to participate in this period in attending to the places that were prepared for mourning.
As it was also highlighted by Governor Alphonse MUNYANTWALI, the mourning will be based on the importance of remembering the Genocide that was perpetrated against Tutsis in 1994, how the foreign countries took the strategies to fight against the Genocide against Tutsis and its ideology, the history that characterized economy in Rwanda before the genocide, during and after, the history that characterized the judicial system before and after the genocide among others.
Mr. Alphonse MUNYANTWALI asked all the institutions on the grass root level to sensitize the population to participate in this mourning and to prepare the places where this will take place.
