“The ICT is a tool to achieve sustainable development”, Min. Ignace Gatare

The Minister in the Presidency in charge of ICT, Dr. Ignace Gatare, declared that the Information and Communication Technology is a tool to achieve sustainable development of the country. At the official launching of ICT awareness campaign held on February 2nd, 2012 in Kamonyi District, the Minister Gatare said the campaign aims to raise the citizen’s understanding so that they become accustomed to the new Information technologies in their daily activities.
The Minister Gatare agrees that the Information and Communication Technology allows multiple activities in little time. He gave the example of withdrawing, transferring, and even receiving money without wasting much time to the bank headquarters.
Richard Ndahiro works at “Banque Populaire du Rwanda”. He supported that with new technology, you can just operate transactions with financial services easily and quickly.
On the behalf of Kamonyi District, The Mayor Jacques Rutsinga called people purposely to learn and use ICT to overcome life troubles, and save their time they often waste . Mr. Rutsinga added that the ICT will help farmers to trade their crops and how to increase the household’s income.
Peter Hakizimana lives in Nkingo cell of Gacurabwenge Sector .He revealed that the ICT is necessary to the growth of rural villages due the extension of basic infrastructure like electricity, roads and clean water.
With this campaign, participants are skilled in social media like facebook and twitter and benefit the knowledge from various products of communication companies like MTN and TIGO, to facilitate a speedy service delivery to customers.
