Burundi has a lot to learn about Rwanda

The government of Burundi has much to learn about Rwanda, because it has achieved a real development in short time, due to the good governance hold up by the decentralization policy.
This has been declared by Mr. Jean Marie Ntihirageza, the Director General in charge of community development in the Republic of Burundi, during a study tour in Kamonyi District on Wednesday 9th November 2011, to see how Rwanda has developed in order to serve as an example to their government.
Mr. Ntihiragiza welcomes the fact that in Rwanda there are several growth programs that raised the inhabitants from the number of poorest countries in Africa. Ntihiragiza and his delegation have thought the way the population work hand in hand, and the fact they organize the daily life in cooperative.
The visitors assumed they were satisfied with the program Umurenge SACCO, land use consolidation and the policy of community work recognized as “Umuganda”.
In Kamonyi District, the delegation saw the cultivation of pineapples on surface of about 100 hectors in Karama Sector; they also examine the management of Umurenge SACCO cooperative and then toured the modern market constructed in Musambira Sector.
Rutsinga Jacques, the Mayor of Kamonyi District said the country’s development is the result of good governance that set apart the administrative authorities. Thus, the factor of highlighting the people’s values is furthermore a key progress achievement.
The Mayor Rutsinga emphasizes that the performance contracts signed every year with the President of the Republic of Rwanda, are the engine to the wellbeing of the population, and each leader has the eagerness to complete properly all of contracts component.
