This Tuesday April 5th 2011, The Governor of the Southern Province Mr. Alphonse MUNYANTWALI chaired a Press conference in the Conference hall of the Southern Province and this had brought together journalists from different media working in our country.

This Press Conference was prepared with the purpose of exchanging ideas on the commemoration of the remembrance and mourning for the victims of the genocide against “Tutsi” in 1994 especially looking at what was achieved in helping the survivors of these atrocities, their security and to follow up and promoting their welfare.

In this Press Conference, the journalists did not only ask questions but they also raised up ideas on what could be done to improve the preparation of the mourning period, to follow up and monitor the daily life of the genocide survivors.

In his speech, the Governor of the Southern Province declared that there is a pleasant step that was made in promoting the security and social welfare of the genocide survivors and also there strategies to keep up and maintain the good achievements and also to correct that mistakes that occurred in the past.

In this Press Conference, The Governor of the Southern Province told the journalists that the Southern Province is determined to work hand in hand with media because they are also part of the leadership of this country especially in teaching and they have a leading role in the development of the Country.

To end up this Press Conference, the journalists thank the Governor of the Southern Province for his flexibility and the way he works with others as an active team player; and he promised them to keep up this trust and confidence they have in him. He said “The journalists are also the leaders who also help us to give vision to the population.”
