Do you need documents to travel abroad? Consult here to have a good idea of what you need
The Office of Emigration and Immigration has the responsibility to welcome its customers and to offer them a quick service of top quality. It is in this framework that we provide them with documents required to travel abroad and that we give cards to foreigners who are in possession of the visa which authorizes them to live in Rwanda.
The documents we deliver are the following ones:
1. Pass ( LP)
A) Documents required for adults
A certificate issued by the Quarter signed by the person responsible for security and by the person responsible for the Quarter as well as by the Coordinator of the Cell
A certificate issued by the Sector of residence, signed by the Executive Secretary of the Sector.
A photocopy of the ID card which contains the dates on which it was issued. Those that were issued from 1996 until 2000 have more value. When dates have become illegible, the person will go the Sector Office qui has issued him the card, asks for the identification form, makes a photocopy of it, which is classified in the file.
A letter requesting a L.P is sent to the agent of the Emigration and Immigration. An amount of 3000 francs is then paid into the account of the office of the Emigration and Immigration
A receipt is issued by RRA, upon presentation of the deposit slip . 2 passport photos which show two ears
It is valid for one year.
Note:
When the pass (LP) expires, it is not renewed, a new one must be applied for.
No one is authorized to apply for a Pass for another person unless thie latter is a patient and this should be justified by the applicant, or a parent who applies for it for his/her child.
The Pass (LP) can be obtained after a period of a day
B) Documents required for a child under 14.
A birth certificate
A letter written by one of the parents on his/her behalf, which applies for the L.P. for the child, and which is signed by both parents.
Photocopies of both parents’ ID cards , one of the parents should contain the names of the child
If one of the relatives is dead, a death certificate issued by the Sector is required
When the child was born out of wedlock, the parent annexes to it a certificate of celibacy issued by the Sector
When parents are separated, the parent who is the custody of the child by the justice, annexes to it the certificate of divorce
When both parents are still alive , they come together with the child
The other documents are the same that those required for an adult.
